Your privacy

Privacy Policy

What happens to your information when you visit this website, in plain words.

Who we are

This website belongs to Latino Academy of Workforce Development, Inc., a nonprofit in Madison, Wisconsin. This policy covers this website only.

What you share with us

You do not need an account to use this website. When you send us a message, ask about a program, share your story or sign up for updates, what you write is saved in our team’s inbox so a person can read it and reply. We also keep a scrambled version of your connection’s address for a short time to stop automated abuse; it does not identify you.

We use what you send only to reply to you. Messages are kept for 180 days and then deleted. Email addresses from the updates sign-up are kept only to send you news, and you can unsubscribe at any time by writing to us. Stories appear on this website only with the consent of the person who tells them. We do not sell or share your information with anyone.

What stays on your device

Only two things, so the website remembers your choices:

  • Your language (English or Spanish), in a cookie that lasts up to one year.
  • Your reading preferences (text size, contrast, motion, colors), saved in your browser. They never leave your device.

No tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not follow you to other websites. You can delete the cookie and the saved preferences at any time from your browser settings.

Donations are made on Givebutter, directions open in Google Maps, and our social networks are on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Those websites have their own privacy policies.

Team sign-in

Only Latino Academy team members sign in, to update the website. Their session uses security cookies that keep it safe, and a cookie remembers the language they choose for the panel. Visitors never need to sign in.

If this policy changes

We will update this page and the date at the top.
