MIRIAM

CDL PROGRAM

Miriam began her CDL journey with a clear purpose: to advance in her career and build a better future for her family. Earning her license wasn’t just a professional milestone—it was a deeply personal goal. She committed fully to the training and preparation, knowing that success would mean greater stability and opportunity for the people who mattered most.

The road wasn’t easy. “There were times when my car broke down, and my son and I had to take the bus and walk to class, no matter the weather,” Miriam recalls. “But thanks to the support I received and the strength God gave me, I kept pushing forward. I had to succeed—there was no other option at that moment in my life.”

As a Latina and a mother, Miriam navigated not only logistical and financial hurdles, but also societal expectations. In a male-dominated industry, she encountered doubt and bias—but refused to let that stop her. “In some places, women aren’t expected to become truck drivers, and we’re even looked down upon,” she says. “People assume we can’t or shouldn’t do it. But with the Latino Academy, I received support from all sides—not just words of encouragement but also financial assistance.”

That support mattered—but it was Miriam’s grit and persistence that carried her through. Today, she shares her story to motivate others, especially women and parents who may be facing similar challenges. Her message is clear: with determination and the right support, anything is possible.

“I want people to know that the obstacles are real—but so are the victories. If I could do it, so can you.”

Why Choose Us

1

Rooted in Community

We are built by and for the community we serve. Our programs are shaped by real needs and lived experiences. We work side by side with students, families, and partners to create opportunities that are relevant and accessible.

2

Focused on Real-World Impact

We don’t offer training for training’s sake. Every class, certification, and coaching session is designed to connect directly to meaningful employment, education, or personal advancement.

3

Flexible and Practical

From evening classes to bilingual materials, we make learning fit into real lives. Whether you’re juggling work, caregiving, or just starting out, we offer flexible formats that make participation possible.

Everything we do starts with the student. We design our programs to support individual goals, not one-size-fits-all outcomes. From flexible scheduling to personalized support, we prioritize what students need to lead their own progress—on their own terms.
