ALEJANDRA

GED/HSED PROGRAM

Alejandra is a business owner, mother, and lifelong dreamer. As the co-owner of Reyes Tacos, a family-run restaurant she operates with her husband, she understands what it means to work hard and build something from the ground up. But beyond the kitchen, Alejandra has always carried a passion for beauty and styling—a dream that started back in Mexico and continues to guide her today.

To move closer to that dream, she enrolled in the GED/HSED program at the Latino Academy of Workforce Development. For Alejandra, earning her high school diploma isn’t just about academics—it’s about creating new possibilities. It’s the foundation she needs to launch a career in the beauty industry and turn her passion into a profession.

Balancing school, business responsibilities, and family life hasn’t been easy. But Alejandra has stayed committed, drawing strength from her loved ones and using the flexible structure of the Latino Academy’s program to keep moving forward.

“Earning my GED/HSED has been an important step toward becoming a stylist,” she shares. “Running a business and going to school isn’t easy, but with my family’s support, I know I can do it. Every day brings me closer to my goal.”

Why Choose Us

1

Rooted in Community

We are built by and for the community we serve. Our programs are shaped by real needs and lived experiences. We work side by side with students, families, and partners to create opportunities that are relevant and accessible.

2

Focused on Real-World Impact

We don’t offer training for training’s sake. Every class, certification, and coaching session is designed to connect directly to meaningful employment, education, or personal advancement.

3

Flexible and Practical

From evening classes to bilingual materials, we make learning fit into real lives. Whether you’re juggling work, caregiving, or just starting out, we offer flexible formats that make participation possible.

4

Student-Centered

Everything we do starts with the student. We design our programs to support individual goals, not one-size-fits-all outcomes. From flexible scheduling to personalized support, we prioritize what students need to lead their own progress—on their own terms.
