ESL (English as a Second Language) Program

Our ESL program is designed to help non-native English speakers improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Open to learners of all cultural backgrounds and proficiency levels, the program fosters personal growth, community integration, and career advancement. With a focus on practical language skills for daily life and workplace communication, it helps students overcome cultural barriers, build confidence, and achieve their goals. Classes are tailored to individual proficiency levels to ensure a supportive and effective learning experience.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Fill out the online registration form to join the waitlist.

  2. Wait for the ESL Coordinator at the Latino Academy to contact you when a class slot becomes available.

  3. Schedule your pre-test appointment.

  4. Complete the pre-enrollment test to determine your class placement.

  5. Pay the enrollment fee and purchase the required textbooks.

Waitlist Policy

  • Enrollment operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are initially placed on the waitlist upon registration and moved to the course list as slots become available. To secure their spot, students are encouraged to respond promptly during the registration process and complete the entrance test by the given deadline. If these steps are not completed on time, the slot may be offered to another student on the waitlist.

  • The upcoming semester is from February 1st to April 19th. Classes occur Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM.

  • Virtual classes conducted via Zoom.

  • Interactive lessons with a mix of individual and group activities.

  • Access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet connectivity for online classes.

  • Participate actively in class discussions and activities.

  • Complete any assignments or materials provided by the instructor.

  • Respect class schedules and peers in the learning environment.

  • Have your camera on during class.

  • Use your full name as your display name on Zoom.

  • Join the session on time.

  • Attend at least 75% of classes to receive a certificate of completion.

  • Complete the post-test after course completion.
